Two layered compounds Cs2Ag2Sb2S5 (1) and CsAgSb4S7 (2) were successfully synthesized using the mild solvothermal method with thiourea as a mineralizer. The syntheses of these two silver-containing quaternary sulfides indicates that thiourea is a novel effective mineralizer. Both compounds are semiconductors and compound 1 exhibits excellent photocurrent response property.
