Biographical Sketch
Hugh Nakamura received his Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 2017 under the guidance of Prof. Takemoto. In 2017, Hugh started his postdoctoral studies at Scripps Research in the US under the guidance of Prof. Phil S. Baran. While at Scripps, Hugh worked on the total synthesis of natural products using electrochemical reactions. In the fall of 2021, he joined the Department of Chemistry at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor. His expertise is in the field of total synthesis and electrochemical reactions. Representative publications include top-notch journals such as JACS and ACIE.
