His main research interests focus on design, synthesis, and characterization of low-dimensional semiconductors nanomaterials, transition metal oxide, noble metal nanocrystals, graphene, MXenes, and their hybrid & composites for energy conversion, energy storage, and green environmental application; i.e. photocatalytic water splitting hydrogen production, electro-catalysis, sodium ion batteries, photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, capacitive deionization (CDI), and supercapacitors. Dr. Shoaib has made significant contributions in Materials Science and Nanotechnology, and published 31 quality research articles on NPJ 2D Mater. and Appl., Mater. Today, Chem. Eng. J., ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, J. Energy Chem., J. Power Sources, and Nano Res.
