Development of the Primary Standard for IAEA TRS-457 at OAP, Thailand

This research reports the procedure in establishing the diagnostic beam qualities following IAEA TRS-457 for calibration in the field of diagnostic dose rate meters in the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Thailand. Both methods, the IAEA TRS-457 and a novel method that was proposed in previous research, were adapted to achieve the RQR beam qualities at the laboratory. In this paper, the achievement of diagnostic beams is presented under the criteria within the technical protocol agreement. The correction factors of the primary standard and their uncertainties are reported. The calibration coefficients with uncertainties of the transfer chamber, A6 exradin, are proposed. These coefficients are compared with the calibration coefficients which were given by PTB that are shown acceptability. The uncertainty in the OAP calibration coefficients is estimated to be 1.20% at k = 2 for RQR and 1.21% at k = 2 for RQA. The laboratory is now able to provide calibration services and to be a national standard.
