A multi-band closed-cell metamaterial absorber (CCMA) based on a low-permittivity all-dielectric structure

A closed-cell metamaterial absorber (CCMA) made of low-permittivity dielectric (LPD) has been proposed and investigated in this paper. It is realizes five absorption peaks below -10 dB in the range of 6-18GHz, and the strongest absorption can reach near -40 dB. By investigating the distribution of electromagnetic fields, it is found that multi-resonance is caused by the embedding closed-cell. Interestingly, it is flexibly that part of absorption peaks could be moved individually by different parameters of closed-cell arrays. The similarities between the results of experiment and simulation confirm the practical feasibility of CCMA.
