Fe-Based Sintered Materials for High-Power Friction Assemblies

Abstract

A sintered Fe-based SMK-type dry-friction material has been chosen in order to provide improved technological and operational characteristics of friction transmission units for light tracked vehicles with a high specific power. As a result of laboratory-scale tribotechnical testing, benchmark full-scale testing, and driving testing for hauling using samples and products, the SMK-137 experimental material is recommended as a unified material for the design and modernization of friction units.
