1. Characterizing chain processes in visible light photoredox catalysis

Authors measured quantum yield to show that three representative, mechanistically distinct photoredox processes are involved in product-forming chain reactions. The combination of quantum yield and luminescence quenching experiments provides a rapid method to estimate the length of these chains. Together, these measurements constitute a robust, operationally facile strategy for characterizing chain processes in a wide range of visible light photoredox reactions.


通过测量量子产率,作者们发现形成产物的链反应涉及三个颇具代表性且机理不同的光氧化还原过程。量子产率和发光猝灭实验相结合,为估计这些链的长度提供了一种快速方法。总之,本文介绍了一种稳健且容易操作的策略,可表征多种可见光光氧化还原反应的链反应过程。

2. A “turn on” fluorescent probe for heparin and its oversulfated chondroitin sulfate contaminant

Fluorescent sensor could be developed into test for blood thinner dosage and adulteration.

Scientists in China have developed a fluorescent probe to detect both heparin and its major contaminant. The sensor could make it easier to monitor the quality of heparin supplies.

1. Synthesis of a figure-eight azahelicene dimer with high emission and CPL properties

Circular polarized luminescence (CPL) is useful for advanced optical devices. However, it is difficult to achieve strong emission and high CPL properties at the same time. Herein, we synthesized a bisbutadiyne bridged azahelicene dimer with a figure-eight shape, which exhibited both high fluorescence quantum yield and the g value. The enhancement is due to the rigid conformation of the dimer.


圆偏振发光(CPL)对于高级光学器件来说十分有用,然而,强发射和高CPL性质却难以同时实现。本文作者合成了一个“8”字形双丁二炔桥连氮杂螺烯二聚体,由于二聚体的刚性构象,该分子同时表现出高荧光量子产率和g值。

2. Copper-mediated annulation of 2-(1-arylvinyl) anilines and aryl nitrosos towards 2,3-diaryl-2H-indazoles

A copper-mediated annulation of 2-(1-substituted vinyl) anilines and aryl nitrosos is developed for the synthesis of 2,3-diaryl pyrazoles. Compared with previously reported sequential azobenzene C–H ortho-acylation, reduction and cyclization procedures towards such frameworks, no external reductant was required during this cyclization, where the vinyl served as a formal innate reductant. Moreover, in this procedure, no selectivity was involved in the case of Ar1 ≠ Ar2.

3. Direct observation and characterisation of 3-azido-2H-azirines: postulated, but highly elusive intermediates

For the first time, successful synthesis of an unknown class of compounds, 3-azido-2H-azirines, which are implicated as highly reactive intermediates in the thermolysis of the corresponding 1,1-diazidoethenes, has been performed. These elusive heterocycles have been detected and characterised by low-temperature NMR and in situ IR spectroscopy. Even the parent compound, 3-azido-2H-azirine, has been observed via low-temperature photolysis of 1,1-diazidoethene, as a highly reactive species with a half-life period of only 12 min at −40 °C.


本文报道了3-叠氮基-2H-氮丙啶类化合物的首次成功合成,这类化合物一直被认为是1,1-二叠氮基乙烯类热解过程中的高反应性中间体。通过低温NMR和原位红外光谱,作者检测并表征了这些平时难得一见的杂环。通过1,1-二叠氮乙烯的低温光解,作者甚至观测到了其母体化合物——3-叠氮基-2H-氮丙啶这个高反应性物种,它在-40 ℃下的半衰期仅为12分钟。

4. The stability and reactivity of tri-, di-, and monofluoromethyl / methoxy / methylthio groups on arenes under acidic and basic conditions

Little attention has been paid to the stability and reactivity of the C–F bond under different conditions. In this study, the stability and reactivity of tri-, di-, and monofluoromethyl/methoxy/methylthio moiety groups on arenes under acidic or basic conditions are carefully investigated.


当前,研究者几乎没有注意过不同条件下C-F键的稳定性和反应性。本文仔细研究了在酸性或碱性条件下芳烃上的三氟取代、二氟取代和单氟取代的甲基/甲氧基/甲硫基基团的稳定性和反应性。
