A perfluorocarbon–silicone oil oxygen–selective membrane for ambient operation of aprotic Li–air batteries

A perfluorocarbon (PFC)–silicone oil (PDMS) oxygen–selective membrane (OSM) is applied for Li–air batteries. The Li–air battery using PFC–PDMS OSM delivers excellent performance in ambient air with 68% relative humidity, comparable to the Li–O2 battery in pure O2. The PFC–PDMS OSM can efficiently serve Li–air batteries sufficient oxygen transport, and prevent water permeation and electrolyte solvent evaporation.
