Abstract It is shown that two papers of Shanmuga Sundaram et al reporting on the growth of “L-alanine potassium nitrate” (LAPN) and “L-alanine sodium nitrate” (LASN) crystals are completely erroneous. In fact, only crystals of L-alanine were obtained in both cases.
