A simple and efficient fluorescent probe for detecting Ba2+ and its various applications

This paper designed and synthesized a simple fluorescent probe L to detect Ba2+ based on pyridoxal and picolinylhydrazide, which was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. Probe L not only presented high selectivity for Ba2+ on various cations, but also had a lower detection limit (6.351×10-6M) at EtOH/H2O (1/1, v/v, pH=7.4) with a binding ratio of 2:1. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed probe L can detect real water and food salt efficiently, and thenachieve recoveries ranged from 96% -100 % and 75%-101% respectively.
