Living in the Shadows of China's HIV/AIDS Epidemics: Sex, Drugs and Bad Blood, a book written by Shelley Torcetti, immediately absorbs with its tale of individuals living with HIV in China, who are still discriminated against, suffer stigmatisation, and are isolated in the shadow of the general population. Despite the Chinese Government's efforts to manage HIV infections, they are still rapidly increasing at a substantial rate of 100 000 new cases reported yearly, thus showing the inadequacy of current programmes to overcome the magnitude of the epidemic.
