A 79-year-old woman with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) underwent percutaneous transluminal septal myocardial ablation (PTSMA) for drug-refractory symptoms of New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional Class IIm. Four-dimensional flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed before, 3 months after and 1 year after PTSMA to evaluate the blood flow pattern and turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) using a vendor-provided software. We defined TKEpeak as the sum of the entire region from the left ventricle to the aortic arch in the systolic phase.
