Ragweed is a plant from the Asteraceae family and a major source of pollen allergens in late summer and autumn, especially in the US and Central and Southern Europe. In the US, most Ambrosia species are native, with a prevalence of ~45% in atopic individuals. Sensitization is spreading in Europe where Ambrosia artemisiifolia (short ragweed) was imported through Hungary at the beginning of the last century.1 This article is protected by copyright.
