In 2023, we organized a distinctive program for short papers in collaboration with the IEEE World Haptics Conference (WHC). This program offered a unique opportunity for authors to publish papers in IEEE Transactions on Haptics (ToH) while also presenting their work at WHC 2023. This initiative garnered significant attention within the haptics community, resulting in a high number of 87 submissions. To ensure a rigorous yet expedited review process, we recruited the support of many guest editors. As a result of their invaluable contributions, we could publish a total of 37 accepted papers in this special issue.
