Metal-carbon (M–C) bonds have long remained unexploited for connection in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with ordered three-dimensional (3D) structures. In this issue of Chem, Jiang et al. have successfully built two iso-reticular crystalline MOFs featuring permanent porosities via Cu(I)–alkynyl linkages, enriching the MOF library via designs of new nexuses.
