The proligands on reaction with trimethylaluminum (AlMe3) resulted in the formation of dinuclear aluminum compounds, where the ligand moieties resemble N-alkylated salan. The aluminum compounds were active towards the ROP of rac-LA and ROCOP of CHO and CO2 and ROCOP of epoxides (CHO, PO, tBuGE) with phthalic anhydride.
