Four anti-inflammatory aromadendrane sesquiterpenoid fucosides and other constituents from Pittosporum glabratum var. neriifolium

Phytochemical investigation of Pittosporum glabratum var. neriifolium EtOH extract led to four aromadendrane sesquiterpenoid glycosides, including one new, pitglabroside A (1), together with eight other kinds of constituents (512). Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analysis, including 1D and 2D NMR, HRESIMS and ECD spectra. Four sesquiterpenoid glycosides (14) were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on NO production in LPS-induced BV-2 microglial cells. Compounds 1 and 2 showed significant inhibitory activity, with IC50 values of 6.06 and 4.68 μM, respectively. Furthermore, the structure-activity analysis revealed that the senecioic group played a more important in the anti-inflammatory activity than the angelic moiety.
