This Mini-review systematically summarized the recent research progress of dual-atomic-site catalysts (DASCs) for molecular oxygen activation (MOA) in heterogeneous thermo- and electrocatalysis. Despite the rapid developments in this field, many great challenges still hinder the practical application of DASCs. We look forward to the challenges and application prospects of DASCs for MOA.
