In 1944, Von Neumann and Morgenstern published their seminal book titled Theory of Games and Economic Behavior, which was a groundbreaking book and created the interdisciplinary research field of game theory. Since then, game theory, as a study of strategic decision making, has found a wide range of applications in not only various disciplines but also our daily life. Generative adversarial networks, artificial intelligence in computer science, pursuit-evasion problems, robust/resilient control problems in control science, voting, social policy making in political science, to mention just a few, are typical problems that can be analyzed from game-theoretic perspectives. Besides, game theory provides suggestions to deal with daily life interactive decision-making situations, e.g., battle of sexes, chess, and game of chicken.
