Multivalent inhibition of plasmin can be modulated by changing valency and linker length of multivalent benzamidine derivatives leveraging statistical rebinding. Higher valencies and shorter linker lengths result in stronger inhibition by increasing effective local concentration of benzamidine in the vicinity of plasmin and by minimizing entropic penalty associated with longer linkers.
