Performance of Geopolymer Mortar and Steel Fiber Reinforced Geopolymer Mortar on Rehabilitation of Seismically Detailed Beam-Column Joint

ABSTRACT

Recently, it was reported that seismically detailed beam-column joint suffered from joint damage during earthquake. Performance of geopolymer as repair material for seismically detailed beam-column joint following removal and replacement technique under cyclic loading is yet to be explored. Experimental program was carried out to examine suitability of geopolymer mortar (GM) and steel fiber reinforced geopolymer mortar (GMSF) to rehabilitate seismically detailed beam-column joint under cyclic loading. It was observed that GM failed to restore cyclic performance of rehabilitated specimens, whereas specimens rehabilitated with GMSF showed better performance in terms of stiffness degradation, ductility, energy dissipation, and damage index.
