Semi-empirical Formula for X-rays Interaction Cross Sections and Energies with Atoms

X-rays are fingerprints of the elements present in the sample. In the present work, we have proposed an empirical model to determine the coherent scattering, incoherent scattering, photoelectric effect and total cross sections for the interaction of K, L1, L2, L3, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, N1, N2 and N3 X-ray with different atoms. We have also proposed an empirical formula for determination of energies corresponds to K, L1, L2, L3, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, N1, N2 and N3 X-ray from atomic number of given element. The values produced by the present formula are compared with the data available in the literature. Deviations of the present formulae are also presented. We have also presented X-ray spectrum for different elements which are useful in the characterization techniques in material science. The proposed set of formulae in the present model will be useful in the atomic, radiation and nuclear physics.
