In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Gohari-Bajestani et al. report on novel Fe-Co oxyfluoride catalysts that are able to surpass the state-of-the-art catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction. Experimental and computational data suggest a cooperative effect between the Fe and Co metal sites responsible for the high catalytic activity.
