A one-pot method for converting paraffinic hydrocarbons into versatile synthetic intermediates has been a long-standing goal in chemical catalysis research. In March’s issue of the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Minteer and co-workers report an electrochemically driven enzymatic cascade capable of producing imines from unactivated alkanes.
