Abstract

In this study, an attempt is made to differentiate the background and permissible boundary values of the quality of soils of natural and natural–anthropogenic objects according to principles of environmental regulation of soils. Criteria of the lower limit of the permissible environmental state of soils for different land uses are analyzed with due account for legal requirements and scientific concepts. Various approaches to the establishment of the optimum state of soils for different land uses are discussed. The need to work out a system of environmental and sanitary-epidemiological indicators of nature management ensuring sustainable development and comfortable living of the population and to improve the environmental regulation system is emphasized.
