To the Editor Marshall-Goebel et al1 examined an important safety concern for long-duration spaceflight—whether or not there is an association between postflight structural brain changes and increased total retinal thickness, considered to be a diagnostic criteria for spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome (SANS). The authors conclude “cerebrospinal fluid redistribution…does not play a substantial role in the development of optic disc edema.”1
