We believe there are a few shortcomings in the study design and data interpretation in the research article by Wang et al. (1). These include 1) cell selection bias, 2) cytokine selection bias from single-cell transcriptomics (SCT) data, and 3) lack of a lipopolysaccharide+dexamethasone (LPS+DEX) control group in the mouse model of steroid-resistant asthma (SRA) exacerbation.
