The paper deals with nonlinear reaction–diffusion systems of two PDEs of a rather general form, which contain arbitrary functions and several delays. Reductions of such non-stationary nonlinear reaction–diffusion systems to simpler systems of stationary PDEs or delayed ODEs are described using a new modification of the functional constraints method. New exact solutions in elementary functions of a diffusive Lotka–Volterra type system with delays are obtained.
