Through Ruthenium-catalysis, some limitations of Pd-catalyzed C−H-activation for the ortho-alkenylation of acetamides with vinylsulfones and vinylsulfonamides can be overcome. The products are useful starting points for a short synthesis of sulfonylated pyrroloquinolines.
