C – H bond functionalization reactions enabled by photobiocatalytic cascades

With the power of photobiocatalytic cascade reactions, a large variety of inert and cheap alkanes can be transformed into high value-added compounds. In this mini-review, recent advances of photobiocatalytic C – H bonds functionalizations, i.e. , hydroxylation, halogenation, amination and ring-expansion reactions are discussed. The pros and cons of the reactions are presented aiming at inspiring more efforts in C – H bond functionalization reactions.
