Abstract

The actinomycete Streptomyces sp. 89 with antagonistic activity towards plant pathogens was isolated from the typical chernozem. Antibiotic substances with physiological activity against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria were isolated from the actinomycete biomass and identified. It was shown that the ratio of the components of the actinomycete antibiotic complex is largely determined by the redox potential of the medium. The redox potential and other environmental factors had a noticeable effect on the formation of polyene, but to a lesser extent, on the synthesis of nonpolyene components. The possibility of targeted regulation of the antibiotic composition and, as a result, the spectrum of biological action is evaluated.
