Abstract—

The complete life cycle and the stages in the trematode Gynaecotyla adunca (Linton, 1905) (Yamaguti, 1939) from two different biotopes are described. The findings have revealed that, in the Black Sea, the trematodes G. adunca parasitize gastropods Hydrobia acuta (Draparnaud, 1805) as their first intermediate hosts and the shrimp Palaemon adspersus (Rathke, 1837) as the second intermediate hosts. According to our research, the definitive host is the gull Larus argentatus (Pontoppidan, 1763). Measurements, figures, and morphological characteristics of the species at all stages of development are provided.
