High Proficient Sensing Response in Clad Modified Ceria Doped Tin Oxide Fiber Optic Toxic Gas Sensor Application

We examined room temperature gas sensing potential in Ceria (CeO2) doped nanocrystalline SnO2 clad modified fiber optic gas sensor. Prior to the investigation, the samples were characterized via SEM/EDS and HRTEM for their morphology and detection of any external contamination. The spectral response of the fiber optic gas sensor was recorded for various concentrations (0–1000 ppm) of toxic gases (Benzene, Methanol, Chloroform and Ammonia). The sensor exhibited noble response towards benzene, and the results are discussed in detail.
