GUN4 regulates chlorophyll biosynthesis and chloroplast-to-nucleus signaling by binding to a variety of tetrapyrrole molecules. In this cover image, six known GUN4 ligands are shown, including cyclic (black) and open-chain (green-blue) tetrapyrroles. The biliverdin-bound GUN4 structure is presented in surface model with the ligand in gray stick. The figure was created by Lin Liu. See article by Hu et al., pp. 2083—2091.
