Development of a novel slit-nozzle design for the lamination of optically clear resin for a foldable OLED

ABSTRACT

Manufacturing a foldable display that includes straight lines and curves on the X-Y plane requires a new lamination process that attaches curved window glass to an OLED display panel. Established slit nozzle method of discharging a constant width shape like a rectangle cannot be applied to a curved display in an X-Y plane having a non-uniform width due to the nozzle’s limitations. To solve these problems, we propose a novel slit-nozzle design for the lamination of a foldable display using Optical Clear Resin (OCR). Designed nozzles add dynamic taps on both sides to control outlet width.
