Advances in carbon-based thermoelectric materials for high-performance, flexible thermoelectric devices

Thermoelectric devices have the capability to directly convert waste heat into electrical energy. In this review, carbon materials are proposed as human-friendly, next-generation thermoelectric materials. Among the various candidates, the thermoelectric performance of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate, carbon nanotubes, graphene, and organic¨Cinorganic hybrid halide perovskites is reviewed in depth. Finally, the applicability of each material to flexible thermoelectric devices is discussed.
