Ultrasound-assisted synthesis of bioactive S-heterocycles

Abstract

Along with, N- & O- heterocycles, S-containing heterocycles are also present in many naturally occurring bioactive compounds. On the other hand, the last decade has witnessed the tremendous application of ultrasonic irradiation in various organic syntheses to make them green and sustainable. Among many others, a number of ultrasound-assisted methods were developed for the synthesis of various S-heterocyclic scaffolds. The present review summarizes “up to date” developments on the ultrasound-irradiated synthesis of biologically promising S-heterocycles reported so far.
