ABSTRACT

In 2020 the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced it was filing for bankruptcy after haemorrhaging money for years due to insurance and the legal costs associated with sexual abuse lawsuits. This set off a flurry of news articles that continue today. I use a queer feminist analysis to argue that we must look more closely at BSA history to learn how the organization has always been broadly bankrupt.
