The High Intensity Proton Accelerator Facility at PSI routinely provides a proton beam with up to $1.4\,\rm{MW}$ power at a kinetic energy of $590\,\rm{MeV}$. The beam is used to generate neutrons in spallation targets and pions in meson production targets. The pions decay into muons and neutrinos, with applications focused on condensed matter research and particle physics at the intensity frontier.
