We read with interest the article by Valvi et al, where the authors categorized donors whose body mass index (BMI) > 40 kg/m2 as extremely obese (EO) using national registry database from 2005 to 2019.[1] EO donors had a 38% higher 30-day mortality risk and 53% increased risk of early graft loss (EGL) after liver transplantation (LT).
