The concept of an ideal free distribution (IFD) is analyzed for the predator–prey system in an inhomogeneous ring-shaped habitat. Diffusion–reaction–advection equations were used to model multifactorial taxis with regard to various laws of prey growth. Relationships were established for the parameters at which the IFD occurs. Transformation of solutions was studied for the case where the parameters deviate from the IFD conditions and the origin of auto-oscillating regimes was considered.
