In this paper, we study a non-autonomous delay mosquito population suppression model where the birth process of wild mosquitoes is density dependent due to the intra-specific competition of larvae. We only include the sexually active sterile mosquitoes in the model such that the number of sterile mosquitoes released is treated as a nonnegative function given in advance. We determine a release threshold value for the sterile mosquitoes and investigate the model dynamics based on the threshold value. We obtain sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the origin in a more general setting. We also give an example to illustrate our main results.
