This article introduces the design concept and excellent HER performance of the NCoCu CDs/NF−CoNi. The abundant −NH2 functional groups on the carbon dots increase the electron transfer rate of the catalyst, and the synergy between the transition metals adjusts the structure and performance of the catalyst. Meanwhile, the NCoCu CDs/NF−CoNi is simple to prepare, low in cost, and has a low overpotential of 65 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm−2.
