Abstract

Experimental and computational ways of determining the brightness contrast of aqueous solutions in the millimeter spectral region are considered. Solutions of hydrochloric and nitric acids are used as model systems. Features of this range of frequencies are noted. Relationships between the microwave and EHF dielectric spectra upon changes in the quasi-optical parameters of solutions and their radio brightness characteristics are investigated. Based on a generalization of the material and a comparison to data for other aqueous solutions of electrolytes and non-electrolytes, a new way of remotely studying the properties of solutions is validated.
