Abstract
An N-ethylthiourea (Etu)–symmetric diethylformamidine disulfide redox system is studied via potentiometry. The potentials of the system in a temperature range of 273–338 K are determined using a platinum electrode. The Bjerrum function of formation is calculated for the reaction [ReOCl5]2– + iEtu = [ReOCl5-iEtui]– + iCl–; Ki (i = 0–5) in a medium of 6 M HCl. The stability constants of Re(V) oxochloro-N-ethylthiourea complexes are determined. A regular pattern of changes in the stepwise stability constants of the complexes upon a rise in temperature is found and thermodynamic values of complexation reactions are determined.
