Abstract
A study is performed of the effect the content of sodium citrate in a reaction mixture (an aqueous solution of silver nitrate and sodium citrate) has on the photochemical production of anisotropic silver nanostructures with a required optical spectrum of localized surface plasmon resonance. Silver nanostructures form during the photochemical reduction of silver nitrate (1 × 10–4 M) at different concentrations (5 × 10−4 M− 1 × 10−1 M) sodium citrate. The optimum conditions for the formation of silver nanoparticles (NPs) with decahedral geometry, dendritic NPs (fractal aggregates), and spherical silver NPs are determined.
