DC Bias Characteristics Analysis of CSR of TCT Type in the Thyristor Abnormal Operation State

In order to obtain DC bias characteristics of controlled shunt reactors (CSRs) of thyristor controlled transformer (TCT) type in the thyristor abnormal operation state, a DC bias characteristics analysis model for the CSR based on Jiles-Atherton(J-A) theory is proposed. A single-phase prototype for the CSR is developed and tested. The coil currents and magnetic flux densities of the iron core are calculated in time domain and frequency domain based on the model. The experimental results agree well with the calculated results. The DC bias characteristics of the CSR are analyzed.
