Photocatalytic direct C−F bond activation of easily accessible fluoroarenes, gem-difluoroalkenes, and trifluoromethylarenes has been applied in the construction of C−H, C−C and C−X bonds. These green, sustainable, and highly efficient photocatalytic protocols have enables the synthesis and late stage functionalizations of bioactive compounds containing fluoroaryl, fluoroalkenyl and fluoroalkyl moieties.
