Two bio-inspired iron(II) complexes are applied in olefin epoxidation catalysis of cis-cyclooctene presenting low catalyst performance, but an exceptional high tolerance towards elevated temperatures through the replacement of trans axial labile acetonitrile ligands by π-accepting isocyanide ligands at the iron center.
