In order to develop design criteria for interpretive nature trails for the visually impaired, this study first investigated existing trails to determine how effective they were, and discover what problems have emerged in their administration. Since it was not feasible to survey visually impaired persons directly, certified orientation and mobility instructors were surveyed to obtain information on the opinions of visually impaired persons.
